Labour law and time

The chapter explores scholarship on labour law and time. It begins by considering some of the characteristics of this broad and diverse body of research - identifying the myriad ways that it manifests as method and theory. What becomes clear is that much of the scholarship is interdisciplinary and critical in nature. The chapter proceeds to consider key thematic areas of labour law research relating to time. This seeks to highlight some of the recent topics of interest to labour law scholars and, most particularly, the diversity of methodological approaches taken to tackle temporal themes. Finally, the last part of this chapter considers a potential new direction for scholarship on labour law and time. This relates to the emerging temporality of the innovation economy, and technology startups in particular.
