Abstract
This paper refers to the discussion on new public governance and approaches the concept of cross-sector partnership. The paper systematised complex literature on cooperation between public, private, scientific and civic sectors and analysed factors affecting the success of cooperation. It elaborated seven groups of factors, dividing them due to the responsible entities (human, institutional, contextual) and phase of cooperation (prerequisites, process, final). Basing on the analysis, a conceptual framework of factors influencing the success of the cooperation was created. The framework was used to examine case studies of joint activities of administration, business, science and civil sector shaping the public space of Warsaw. The research found that the success of cooperation in the studied cases was achieved thanks to all groups of factors stemming from the literature. Moreover, the studies were influenced by two additional actors: local community and land managers. The result of the paper is an empirically verified conceptual framework of success factors of cross-sector cooperation in the context of urban space.
