Abstract

The knowledge of fatigue damage and crack propagation under such complex microstructural features, load spectrum, and residual stress field in the additive manufacturing (AM) parts would help in the creation of robust design principles in building AM parts of complex structural segments in view of the applied design stress and managed residual stress and active damage mechanisms. In this book, the fatigue analysis of the AM built components has been presented for various loading conditions. This book provides a unique insight into the structural integrity of the AM built components and helps designers, manufacturers, metallurgists, and engineers to better understand the key challenges involved in this emerging industry and assists with design optimization for enhanced fatigue lives using the underpinning research conducted on the AM parts.
