Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

This introductory chapter explains key terms used in the collection – including gender-based violence, men's violence against women and victim/survivor - and discusses the implications of their use. It begins by contextualising the book's origins in relation to the pandemic, highlighting the way in which Covid-19 exposed and exacerbated wider gender inequalities. It then introduces continuum thinking as the approach taken in the editorial selections and explains the structure of the collection. Finally, it outlines the ethical issues the collection grapples with in terms of representing violence for the purposes of feminist analysis.
