Abstract

This paper presents the work carried out to design, optimize and implement a Circularly Polarized (CP) dual-patch antenna configuration. Patch 1 is to be placed on top of the central hub, and Patch 2 is to be placed on the bottom of the hub, as shown. Patch 2 also has a large brass hoop straight through the centre of it, which will be used to release the hub from the ejection chamber on the REXUS rocket. Both Patch 1 and Patch 2 are connected to a wireless modem via phase matched cables and a power divider. The dual-patch antenna configuration will then receive and transmit data from the central hub section to the REXUS rocket.
