Abstract

This section examines the 'robotic' equipment used in manufacturing industry and includes reprogrammable automation equipment. NC machine tools and automated assembly equipment are excluded except where industrial robots are involved. Similarly, 'hard' automation (e.g. cam-controlled mass-production equipment) is omitted. Thus the main subjects of interest will be industrial robotics and artificial vision.
