Abstract

The synthesis and structures of bis-((mu(2)-acetato-O,O')-mu-(N,N'-bis-(o-hydroxybenzyl)-1,3-diaminopropane)-(aquo)nickel)nickel, his((mu(2) -acetato-O,O')-mu-(N,N-bis-(o-hydroxybenzyl)-1,4-diaminobutane nickel)nickel acetate) and bis-((mu(2)-acetato-O,O')-mu-(N,N-bis(o-hydroxybenzyl)-1,4-diaminobutane)-(dimethylformamido)nickel)nickel are reported. These compounds are designed to draw attention to the wider structural catalogue available to symmetrical hydrogenated Schiff base complexes which contain a tetramethylene backbone.
