Abstract

Textbooks are the bedrock of the secondary school classroom. They are also a lens through which students perceive the field of chemistry. But they have their limitations. A recent review of textbooks has raised several issues suggesting they do not fully support teaching and learning. This article highlights the issues raised and offers some tips to help you provide your students with a more rounded chemistry education.
