Abstract
The Home Detention Curfew (HDC, or ‘tag’ as it is often referred to) is a scheme that allows certain prisoners, including 16 and 17 year olds, to serve the final part of their sentence (up to one quarter; for a maximum of 180 days and minimum of 14 days) at home or another suitable address in the community, subject to licence conditions. This Information Sheet, written by CYCJ’s Debbie Nolan, explains the seven stages of the Home Detention Curfew application process. It has been updated for 2018.
