Abstract

Long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFA) are essential in foetal development and in the subsequent maintenance of normal health. These LCPUFA are essential in neuronal development and more recently have been implicated as beneficial in ageing and are associated with reduced risk of dementia.
