Abstract

We have demonstrated a narrow-linewidth wavelength tunable semiconductor fiber ring laser. Laser has tunability of 40 nm in the 1550 nm region, very narrow linewidth (less than 0.01 nm), 44 dB side mode suppression, and -4.7 dBm output power. The tuning properties and working principles are discussed.
