Final system-wide assessment on impact on jobs: Deliverable 7.8

Research output: Book/ReportCommissioned report

Abstract

Deliverable 7.8: “Final system-wide assessment on impact on jobs” aims to provide and estimate of the relationship between the expected offshore wind Levilised Cost of Energy (LCOE) reduction associated with X-ROTOR and key economic metrics including gross domestic product, jobs, and emissions. This report builds on the estimation of X-ROTOR LCOE undertaken in Deliverable 6.2: “Modelled LCOE for the X-ROTOR” from WP6 by using a Computerised General Equilibrium (CGE) model to model the impact of X-ROTOR.

Our UKENVI model is an energy-economy-environment CGE model based on the AMOS framework of models used extensively by the Fraser of Allander Institute (FAI). Informed by the findings of D6.2, we consider a central scenario based on the average LCOE value derived. To address uncertainty around the true LCOE of X-ROTOR we model five additional scenarios designed to test the sensitivity of our results.
