Abstract

In response to recommendations from the Renfrewshire Tackling Poverty Commission 2015, Renfrewshire Council implemented a series of interventions funded by the Scottish Attainment Challenge Initiative. The Exploring Pedagogy in Primary 1 (EPP1) project is one of a series of projects that form part of this 2-year intervention to support the improvement of educational outcomes for children in Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) deciles one and two within Renfrewshire Council. The EPP1 project aims to improve children’s educational outcomes and experiences through a targeted professional development programme (PDP) exploring pedagogical approaches and theories to inform practice.
