"Europeanisation” of cataloguing codes: an analysis of the evolution of RDA

Abstract

The development of RDA (Resource Description and Access), a new global cataloguing code, is analyzed in detail and its prospects for application in Europe are outlined. A survey of members of IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations) cataloguing Committees was used to obtain specialist opinion.
