Abstract
Paper descibing how an estimation of impulsive noise in an electricity substation can be devised. Impulsive noise has the potential to degrade the performance and reliability of wireless communications systems. Such noise, which is especially prevalent in high-voltage electricity substations, has discouraged electricity utility companies from deploying wireless technologies for operational purposes.
