Abstract

Study investigates the fetishization of the dystopic past of Eastern Bloc, focusing on the cultural creations of a girl-blogger account on Instagram. Preliminary findings demonstrate how consumers co-operate historical experience of dystopia for contemporary recreation. Capitalizing on the socio-material traces of communism enables an aestheticization process leading toward authentic self-identification.
