Abstract
The polydentate ligand Bis–tris propane is used to assemble two Cu/Zn heterometallic complexes: a tetramer which displays an unusually strong Cu(ii)⋯Cu(ii) exchange given the Cu⋯Cu separation or, in the presence of base, a hexadecanuclear complex with a remarkable double-concentric ring structure.
