Abstract

This definitive study examines the performance of wireless sensor networks solutions for harsh industrial environments, and in this within an operational gas turbine engine. The results of this study significantly de-risk the deployment of wireless systems for safety critical applications within the aviation industry. As a result of this research, we won a TSB competition on Highly Innovative Technology Enables in Aerospace 2 (HITEA2), £162k. The project examines the use of WSNs for mission critical avionics.
