Abstract
In this presentation I will provide evidence support the following points:.
1. Dementia has been declared a global challenge. Yet, strategies to fight such devastating diseases are far from global.
2. Lack of cultural validity and affordability are some of the barriers precluding the harmonization of dementia strategies across the global South and North.
3. New initiatives are emerging that bring together academic, industry, third sector, and funding agencies to level the playfield and support research, clinical practice, and capacity building in global world.
