Abstract

Venomous animals and their toxins have always fascinated man because of their deadly effects. What is surprising is that some of the most toxic substances in nature can have therapeutic applications. The toxins are precisely targetted to important biological control processes, and so may be used to manipulate those processes in various diseases.
