Abstract

This workshop offered a space of intellectual discussion, on the current situation and future potentialities of critical hospitality studies. During the workshop, four main themes have been explored and discussed, which were the current state, areas of potential growth, challenges, and with a particular focus on the theme of the future possibilities of critical hospitality studies. The workshop employed the innovative KETSO toolkit, which is a hands-on workshop toolkit to stimulate rich interactive discussions, capture ideas, identify key issues, and plan for future actions. Themes emerged from the workshop include the formulation of a critical research agenda, raise the disciplinary profile of hospitality research, establish ontological and epistemological underpinnings of critical hospitality studies, as well as a supportive network of communities that promotes communication, networking and inclusivity.
