Abstract

The concept of home has always been synonymous with comfort – a place where we seek solace and relaxation from the outside world. As we step into the future, the home is poised for a remarkable transformation, propelled by technological advancements, sustainability, and a deeper understanding of human well-being. In this chapter, we embark on a captivating exploration of the future of home and its intricate relationship with comfort. We envision a world where smart and connected systems, energy efficiency, personalised solutions, renewable energy integration, enhanced air quality, human-centric design, AI optimisation, and considerations for the ageing population converge to shape our living spaces.

In this chapter, we will delve into each of these eight key ideas to explore the future of the home and its profound relationship with comfort. By examining the intersection of technology, sustainability, and human well-being, we will uncover the transformative potential of the future home, where comfort is personalised, energy is conserved, and well-being is prioritised.
