Cathode materials for sealed CO2 waveguide lasers

Abstract

Fourteen materials have been tested as cathodes for use in long-life sealed carbon dioxide lasers. With appropriate preprocessing and temperature of operation, a stainless steel and a platinum derivative have been found suitable.
