Abstract

In this paper we present a perspective on Beyond Third Generation (B3G) mobile communication considering past mobile evolution. In order to satisfy the
requirements and expectations of the users to have more advanced wireless communication in mobile environments, this paper outlines the technical issues challenges & solutions involved in B3G mobile communications. We discuss the
following technical challenges of B3G: wide coverage area with wide variety of services, high capacity and high rate transmission using multiple access techniques, cost reduction technologies and interconnection based on IP networking, necessity of broadband communications. We estimate and
analyse the trend in uptake of mobile subscribers worldwide for 2G, 3G and B3G cellular systems considering the number of services provided based on wireless networks and frequency allocation to accommodate large number of users.
