Abstract
The effect of beat noise on optical CDMA networks utilising a range of 2-D time spreading/wavelength hopping (TW) code families is presented. A general formula for the error probability and the influence of code properties on network performance are given. The network performance is calculated for both physical and data link layers. The analysis reveals that the beat noise degrades both error probability and network throughput.
