All-optical data format conversion between RZ and NRZ based on wavelength converter

Abstract

We demonstrate high performance all-optical format conversion between RZ and NRZ using a wavelength converter. For the conversion from RZ to NRZ, we use a duplicator to make multiple copies of the input RZ pulses before the injection into the Mach-Zehnder type wavelength converter.
