Abstract
The main aim of this review performed as part of AFRC core project 1829, is to provide members with a deep understanding of three technology areas availability, maturity, cost, benefits, challenges, and current/future potential areas of application. The three technologies of interest to members are: (1) laser bending, (2) peen forming, and (3) die quench forming. The report is based on a literature review of the state of the art in these areas and significant potential technology supplier engagements to determine the potential for access to these advanced technologies and how they could be utilised to manufacture components.
