Abstract
The workshop will explore how to conduct useful collaborative research to the satisfaction of all business and academic stakeholders. Group discussions will be facilitated by intellectual harvesting technique and a case study describing a multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional and multi-modal research project will be used to stimulate debate. Focussing on research outcomes, the workshop will explore how a mixed methods approach can create theory and practice from one process. Connecting theory with practice, the workshop will demonstrate how the gap can be bridged via tools that are generalisable and so applicable to any number of organisations. On an individual basis, participants will have the opportunity to both share their experiences and learn from the approaches adopted by their colleagues. For those looking to write collaborative research proposals, the workshop should provide useful background information and a better understanding of practical issues which, if explicitly addressed, could enhance the credibility of their applications.
