Abstract

Based on the generalized sidelobe canceller (GSC), we propose a novel adaptive broadband beamformer, where the quiescent vector and blocking matrix are replaced by a series of two-dimensional frequency invariant filters (FIFs). As opposed to standard beamspace techniques, the number of FIFs is flexible and they are not required to possess a very low sidelobe level. Compared with a standard GSC, a faster convergence speed and a lower computational complexity of its adaptive part are achieved.
