Abstract

We propose a new approach to precoding and equalisation for broadband MIMO channels by applying a broadband singular value decomposition to decouple a broadband MIMO system into independent frequency selective subchannels. In a sceond step, ISI present in the subchannels is eliminated using methods developed for SISO channels. Different from state-of-the-art approaches for broadband MIMO transceivers. the proposed design is not restricted to block transmission, and offers more design freedom in the trade-off between inter-block, co-channel, and inter-symbol interference terms. A numerical example highlights that Our proposed design can provide better bit error rate (BER) performance than that of comparable methods. which means that a higher spatio-temporal gain call be achieved.
