Project Details

Description

The objective of the Velux House research project is to assess the operational effectiveness of the sensor-based control system, VELUX ACTIVE, in the context of Scotland, with the system’s effect on IAQ in bedrooms adopted as the central interest. This research compares IAQ in homes equipped with the VELUX ACTIVE system to IAQ in homes without the system. Although integrating sensors into mechanical ventilation systems is common practice, their application in passive ventilation solutions has been somewhat limited. As an integral component of this ongoing endeavour, I have successfully installed and closely monitored indoor environment sensors in six Glasgow residential dwellings. These sensors are presently subject to uninterrupted observation. As the project leader, my responsibilities include data analysis, managing online sensors, and delivering periodic reports on the gathered data.
