Using Hypergraph Theory to Model Coexistence Management and Coordinated Spectrum Allocation for Heterogeneous Wireless Networks Operating in Shared Spectrum

This thesis explores the objective of enhanced spectrum utilisation among cognitive radios within a dynamic spectrum access (DSA) policy, and managing the coexistence of heterogeneous wireless networks within the same spatio-spectral region.

Hypergraph theory is more suitable for modelling spectrum assignment in a spectrum sharing scenario than graph theory, leading to significant improvement in spectrum utilisation.
