The aim of the project is to consider environmental factors such as wind speed and gusting, pollution, ice loadings, etc. in order to develop a model that determines which of these factors correlate strongly with the failure rate of the towers. The model will be developed to predict residual life, and to estimate wear and corrosion rates of towers based on the expert judgement gathered and available environmental data. The model will be applicable to specific sites considering data on environmental factors and expert judgement.
