Description
The SMC Evaluation Programme (October 2010 to December 2012) was commissioned by SMC and sought to address four questions relating to the utility of SMC products for financial planning, and engagement with SMC clinical experts:
• How do SMC clinical experts engage with the SMC process?
• How useful do NHS Boards find the Forward Look Report and associated financial
spreadsheet?
• How complete is Forward Look in identifying which medicines will become available and
when they will be launched?
• How do estimates of actual medicine use compare with the predictions provided in
Forward Look reports and the SMC Detailed Advice Document (DAD)?
• How do SMC clinical experts engage with the SMC process?
