Telecommunications are vital for smart grids, requiring cost-effective yet highly reliable solutions, where satellite communication offers wide coverage to reach remote substations. This paper presents experimental testing of BGAN M2M technology for SCADA communication with reclosers, discussing and validating hardware test results across various scenarios, while also addressing the challenges of maintaining pole reliability.
