Project Details
Description
The scope of this project is to evaluate the functionalities of Cooper Power Systems’ VR-32 voltage regulators under different scenarios and with different configuration of the CL-6 Series controllers. Three single-phase voltage regulators installed in the 11 kV network of the Power Networks Demonstration Centre (PNDC), connected in closed-delta configuration and equipped with CL-6 Series controller have been utilised for the testing. Each of the three single-phase voltage regulators (VRs) is rated at 11 kV, 220 kVA. The VRs have been tested with different configuration settings for their basic control operation as well as reverse power sensing control features. A number of scenarios have been considered to achieve this objective with power flow in both forward and reverse direction through the VRs. These scenarios involve varying the voltage at the input of the VRs away from the nominal 11 kV, operation in parallel circuit configuration and presence of a diesel generator simulating embedded generation.
