Project Details
Description
Used £6.5K of funding secured from Alumni Fund and StrathUnion to develop and organised centrepiece COP26 student events (Nov ’21). A first in UK HE, this series of workshops engaged students (and staff) in a ‘systems thinking’ approach to scalable, peer-to-peer Climate Education (CE). Worked in collaboration with international partners, Climate Fresk, Youth-Climate Action Network and Climate Interactive and their MIT Sloan Business School Climate Simulator. 200 students participated in this COVID-safe in-person programme. 57 converted to become fully trained workshop facilitators, and over 650 people (including Strathclyde students, staff, students from ISPs and local community groups) joined since then.
