Strengthening literacy skills through learning languages

Delivered to groups of teachers in the following local authorities: Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Dundee City Council, East Dunbartonshire Council and South Lanarkshire Council.

In this workshop we will:
Make links across languages by transferring familiar literacy approaches in English to the target language.

Consider the place of phonics and phonological awareness, grammar, active reading and listening and supported writing and talking in primary language learning (PLL).
