Shared living care home evaluation

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Research evaluation of a new shared living foster care placement at Kibble in Glasgow, exploring whether we can use adverse childhood events (ACEs) to success at an intensive fostering support programme

Layman's description

A research evaluation of a service which provides support to children who have large numbers of adverse childhood events to work out which patterns of those events the service works for, and which it does not.

Key findings

We found that the existing service often struggled to work with the children with the most severe adverse childhood events, especially where that was combined with the children also showing severe dysregulatory behaviour. This opens space to look at the additional levels of support those children need, and for a new service to be launched to try and support those children.
