Description
Development of professional identity in law, SW, teacher education and SLT; Identifying similarities and differences in the professional attitudes of students at the start and end of 1st year in these professional degree courses.
Aims:
1. to identify changes in professional attitudes, beliefs and characteristics within cohorts of students studying professional courses in law, education, social work, and speech and language therapy degrees.
2. to compare similarities and differences of professional attributes between students across different disciplines
3. to pilot a methodology for effective cross-disciplinary research in developing professionalism
4. to establish a research and theoretical basis for interprofessional collaboration that would inform teaching programmes and establish a foundation for future interagency working.
