Philosophy with Children: Supporting Teachers

Project: Knowledge Exchange

Project Details

Description

The project is funded by the Royal Philosophical Society of Glasgow (£2,500). It aims to marry Philosophy with Children research and practice, in a way that involves teachers as researchers. It also aims to bring together children from different backgrounds to engage in practical philosophy through Community of Philosophical Inquiry (CoPI). The project has four main objectives:

1. to undertake research on CoPI in the classroom
2. to create resources to support teachers’ planning and implementation of Philosophy with Children;
3. to demonstrate CoPI to practitioners and policy makers; and
4. to bring together pupils from a range of schools to participate in a Philosophy Jam.

Notes
