NMIS-MSA-DIRF-1926_NMIS_Graduate_Scheme (Pilot)

Project: Knowledge Exchange (Training / Short Course)

Project Details

Description

Graduate Manufacturing Scheme, a strategic initiative under the NMIS-NTTF programme. This programme is coordinated by the National Manufacturing
Institute Scotland (NMIS) and funded by the Scottish Funding Council through the National Transition Training Fund (NTTF). It was developed in response to the
employment and economic challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and aimed to provide dual support: helping graduates build careers in advanced manufacturing while also offering SMEs and tech startups access to skilled talent during a challenging recovery period.
The Graduate Manufacturing Scheme offers fully funded three to six-month placements for recent graduates across Scotland. The placements take place within NMIS’s own Test Beds or Strategic Research Programmes (SRPs), or with our extended network of industrial partners, including SMEs, startups, and manufacturers focused on digital technologies, materials innovation, and precision engineering. These placements allow graduates to develop practical
skills, explore real-world challenges, and gain meaningful exposure to the manufacturing sector. At the same time, host companies benefit from fresh perspectives, technical support, and enhanced project capacity.
