Neocycl : Electrochemical Copper Reclamation from Electronic Waste using Ammoniacal Solution

Project: Knowledge Exchange

Project Details

Description

Neocycl is a start-up based in Scotland. Neocycl wishes to develop technology related to electrochemical copper refining from spent electronic waste. The Chemical and Process Engineering Department is collaborating with Neocycl to realise a process and Reaction Technology which enables this research.

Key findings

That Copper can be recovered using appropriate ammoniacal lixiviants from electronic waste. That appropriate reaction technology can be developed to enable the recovery.
