Description
A programme funded through the Universities RE:Active 2014 programme as a legacy to the commonwealth games. The My Life, My Choice project in Chikwawa (Malawi) aimed to use sport and youth activities to promote youth empowerment and healthy life choices. The project received an initial funding of £1000 which was then supported with £2000 extension funding to meet the needs of community based as well as school based youth. The project also provided support for students from the University of Malawi (Polytechnic) to provide continuing mentoring to secondary school students on career and life choices.
Notes
This funding was received by Sarah Rippon (PhD candidate) as a member of the Scotland Chikwawa Health Initiative programme
