Project Details

Layman's description

The Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MMIC) is redefining the future of pharmaceutical production with cutting-edge digital technology, collaborative expertise, and more sustainable manufacturing practices. Numerous processes that are carried out at MMIC produce significant amount of data that can be analysed to monitor their efficiency and sustainability. Doing so is helping MMIC to reach ever better performance.

Notes

This project was co-supervised by collaborators from CPI (Centre for Process Innovation), which launched MMIC in 2022, as part of the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland. Visits on site at MMIC (near Glasgow airport) were arranged for students to interact with operational engineers, understand where/how the data was produced, and get support to extract the data when needed.
