Project Details

Description

Project funded by AFRC Tier1 industrial partners.
1) Goal for modelling ATI 718Plus alloy microstructure evolution is: further development of the microstructure prediction model for the family of 718-like alloys using the example of ATI718Plus alloy.
2) Goal for AD730 and Udimet 720 alloys is to understand the impact of forging variables, such as forging orientation (billet vs. cogging direction), forging pass schedule (single blow vs. multi-hit forging including intermediate heat treatment), strain, and long soaking treatments for temperature homogenization, on the recrystallization behaviour.
