Project Details
Description
Multi-phase permanent magnet generators are an emerging technology for renewable energy applications in the kW to MW range, offering high power density and high efficiency. The proposed project will investigate the multi-phase generator and its power electronic interface to the distribution network with a view to optimising reliability and performance of the generation system. The project complements existing work programmes and is of significant academic and industrial importance, thereby offering excellent opportunities for publication, follow-on research funding and development of a new research theme.
