This article was published on the Spring edition of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists' Bulletin (2025). It explains how the authors run four in-house Intensive Comprehensive Aphasia Programmes (ICAPs) with student SLTs on placement. The placements were based on the PAL model and encouraged students to develop clinical practice with a string sense of accountability and collaboration.

The ICAPs resulted in:
- increased number of placements for student SLTs
- positive impairment-based and wellbeing outcomes for patients
- quality learning opportunities for student SLTs
