Project Details
Description
Research project carried out thanks to the SLS Research Activities Fund.
The project aimed at mapping the power imbalance throughout the fashion supply chain and explore whether contract law tools such as good faith and inequality of bargaining powers could offer adequate solutions to the problem.
Thanks to the funding I was supported by a research assistant in a literature review in Italy and the UK and with 18 interviews to fashion stakeholders. The grant enabled me to fly to Milan and Rome for interviews to key stakeholders and to participate in the conference AIDA – Internet e diritto d’autore nell’UE. I have also given a keynote speech at the launch of the Fashion Law course of the State University of Milan. Finally, I have published ‘Can the law fix the problems of fashion? An empirical study on social norms and power imbalance in the fashion industry’ on the Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice.
