The aim of this project was to determine whether second harmonic generation (SHG) could be used as a more sensitive and less invasive technique for quantifying collagen deposition in the heart. Pilot experiments in this project assessed whether SHG could be used as a superior technology for accurate measurement of cardiac collagen deposition (fibrosis).
